PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Colin Cusack threw six strong innings Tuesday to lead the Westfield baseball team to a 3-0 win over Pittsfield on Buddy Pellerin Field.

Cusack struck out a pair and scattered four hits over six innings before giving the ball to Joshua Wagner, who gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless seventh.

Cam Hillard came out on the short end of the pitchers duel, going 6 and two-thirds innings for the Generals. Hillard struck out three and allowed just one earned run before Brayden Gutzmer finished up in the seventh.

Jackson Almeida went 2-for-3 at the plate for Pittsfield.

“Cam Hillard pitched a solid game, but we can’t win if we don’t score runs,” Pittsfield coach Drew Pearce said. “Almeida did have two hits but we couldn’t capitalize with runners on base.”

The Generals (8-5) go to Taconic on Thursday.
